Rocky Mountain Chapter Adopts the
Las Vegas Community Reinvestment Challenge
to Support Child Haven

The Rocky Mountain Chapter is leading the way to design and build a comforting, family-friendly living space and green area for Child Haven.

Child Haven, a division of Clark County Family Services, is dedicated to providing care and protection to children placed in protective custody by creating an atmosphere that is as "home-like" as possible. The time away from home is a difficult one for both the parent and the child. Visiting is encouraged.

Financial or in-kind donations to Child Haven will not only go to creating a welcoming environment in the cottage area but will also be used to help fund their on-site education, medical care, recreation and social and cultural events.

The Las Vegas Summit presented a key opportunity to engage CoreNet Global members in one aspect of Child Haven’s needs: creating a calm welcoming atmosphere for the children and their families.

Las Vegas Summit CRC Event Benefits Children

Child Haven provides temporary care and treatment for abused, neglected and abandoned children between 3 days to 17 years of age. Children are placed in protective custody in Child Haven by police or DFS workers. The Child Haven campus consists of eight cottages, and activity and school centers. Each cottage is a self-contained "home" and meals are prepared and served family-style in the cottage.
