In 1999, when Tishman Speyer and the Hearst Corporation first began planning to build Hearst?s landmark NewYork headquarters, sustainability was a topic barely on the fringes of the design and construction world.
Hearst Corporation was committed not only to sustainable practices within its headquarters, but also to environmental education, sharing its experience with the marketplace in innumerable ways. Tishman Speyer saw an opportunity to lead the market in green development as they and the Hearst Corporation planned to build Hearst's landmark New York headquarters.
