Economic Development Leadership Award
In today's globally networked corporate environment, decisions on where companies locate their operations are linked more and more to their global business plans and their integrated portfolios. That's why location strategies are an important part of the way that corporations are now doing business.
The Economic Development industry is one of the key pieces of this new, globally integrated business model. Economic developers must adopt the same views as their corporate clients in the competition for jobs and investment - one now played out in the global marketplace.
Each year, CoreNet Global recognizes leadership, best practices and innovations in economic development representing national, state, regional and local interests. The submissions may represent communities and corporations involved in location decisions involving:
- Leadership and Innovation Includes creating new strategies, overcoming long-standing obstacles to progress, creating diverse effective community teams, attracting new corporate facilities and jobs, developing web-based tools, design of incentives programs.
- Major Deals and Projects Includes recruitment of major companies resulting in new capital investments and/or jobs; expansion of existing companies; demonstrated creativity in structuring win-win transactions/deals.
