The City of Melbourne, Australia's Council House 2, a government council building with high standards in green technology was the first presentation of the morning. Kairos Shen of the Boston Redevelopment Authority represented the City of Melbourne for the presentation. Council House 2 is an example of innovation from both a design and workplace perspective, being the first building to receive the six star design rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.

Recognizing and acting on demographic trends in the Northeast US was the motivation for Fidelity Corporate Real Estate's innovation. Recognizing the work force migration to the south and west and the slowing growth rate in the Northeast US, the "war for talent" took on a demographic approach. Engaging and partnering with HR in adopting a new long-term perspective in site selection, Fidelity has established a world-class site selection process with a regionalized approach. Rob Reilly and Sanjiv Awasthi presented the Fidelity Portfolio Location Strategy for consideration for the award.

What is a certified Megasite? This was the question that the Tennessee Valley Authority answered in their description of their innovation. independently certified as ready for heavy industrial development by TVA in its seven-state area. Partnering with McCallum Sweeney Consulting, a field of 30 sites was identified, 9 of which were certified. At the time of the presentation, 3 had been sold. This innovation is helping alter the landscape of the Tennessee Valley and is bringing vital industry to communities within the region.
