Convergence is ... the process of coming together toward a common point. The 2006 CoreNet Global Summit in Beijing focused on the escalating convergence of businesses, service providers, locations and public institutions in Asia from a corporate real estate perspective.
We explored how this convergence expands and blurs the boundaries of the traditional multi-national business organisation and transforms it into an enterprise of increased scope, complexity and risk. In addition, the convergence of data and processes fuels enterprise effectiveness and competitive advantage. Taken together and against the dynamic backdrop of energized Asian markets, these factors create unprecedented opportunity for multi-national and domestic organisations alike.
How do strategic leaders mitigate the new and expansive risks whilst exploiting the new and wide-ranging opportunities? How do corporate real estate professionals determine appropriate operating models for the convergence of real estate with support services units like HR, IT, Finance and Purchasing?
These trends and questions were the theme and focus of the CoreNet Global Summit, Beijing 2006.
