Pre-Summit Programme
MCR Seminar
27th & 28th March 2006
Strategic Outsourcing: Building Organizational Capacity through Partnerships
(MCR Elective)
Strategic outsourcing has evolved to a key component of a corporation's strategy. When done correctly, the enterprise will be more competitive from a business perspective and the staffs are enabled to focus on core capabilities, reduce costs and improve efficiencies. Management of corporate real estate has evolved from a model of providing all services in-house to an emphasis on the strategic use of outsourced services and other forms of partnering with outside organizations.
In addition to outsourcing services, some enterprises are actually outsourcing some or all of their real estate portfolios as well as arranging to purchase service / solution packages that integrate facility, IT and management services. It is unclear how far and how fast this development may occur. Corporations are considering the strategy because it has the potential to free capital, provide increased flexibility, and shift risk. This seminar is designed to inform participants about the pros and cons of outsourcing, stressing those factors, which lead to successful outsourcing, examining organizational approaches, and is designed for both corporate managers and service providers.
