POSITIVE CHEMISTRY -
Building a Winning Organization
Successful corporate leaders understand, navigate, influence and change their organizations. This begins by (re)defining your own job description and includes organizational tactics to improve departmental and company-wide performance. The 2007 Eastern Regional Symposium offers a combination of tactical, strategic and visionary approaches to this topic.
The Johns Hopkins University opened on Feb. 22, 1876, and today is recognized as a leading university in both teaching and research. The School of Medicine is widely considered one of the world's best, and the Bloomberg School of Public Health is renowned for contributions worldwide to preventive medicine and the health of large populations. Other divisions, though smaller than those of similar schools in other institutions, include eminent scholars and many highly ranked departments.
In recent years, Johns Hopkins has won more federal research and development funding than any other university. This is largely due to the work of the Applied Physics Laboratory, a division of the university devoted entirely to research and development. The School of Medicine is the largest recipient of National Institutes of Health research grants to medical schools, and the Bloomberg School ranks first among schools of public health in federal research support.
In all, the university has nine academic divisions.
